Handmade Chawan White Ningyo Doll Design Matcha Cup Japanese Tea Bowl

This stunning Japanese chawan tea cup bowl is the perfect cup for drinking Japanese tea. Featuring a traditional design on a gorgeous off-white background, this cup would look perfect in any modern living space.

Modern tea cup bowls often feature popular designs from the past. This chawan features a design by Ninsei, a famous potter from Kyoto who lived in the 1600s. The design features dolls of the Japanese Emperor and Empress, like the kind that would be displayed on Hina Matsuri (Doll's Day). The vibrant red, blue and gold design sits neatly on the soft, muted off-white background in a way that adds a little extra calm to your tea time.

This chawan tea bowl has been handmade by an expert potter from Kyoto with decades of experience, so you can rest-assured that it's an exceptional quality, traditional Japanese tea cup.
